China will build at least 60 nuclear power plants in the next 10 years

China plans to build more than 60 nuclear power plants over the next 10 years, according to Zheng Mingguang, deputy general manager of the China National Nuclear Power Corporation (SNPTC), at a World Nuclear Association meeting in London on Friday, Sept. 16.
"China will build about 30 nuclear reactors (reactors) in the next five years, and more in the next five years," he said.
Zheng Mingguang pointed out that China's major nuclear power companies - the State Nuclear Power, China Nuclear Industry Group (referred to as the nuclear), China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group (CGNPC) will start at least one year to build two nuclear reactors.
He also said that the new 60 nuclear power plants will include 6 to 10 CAP1000 reactor type, that is, Toshiba's Westinghouse (Westinghouse) manufactured AP1000 reactor type of Chinese version.
"The first of the new six will include two new nuclear reactors built by the China Nuclear Corporation in Sanmen, Zhejiang Province, and Westinghouse is expected to complete the first two units of the AP1000 by the beginning of next year," said Zheng.
